Spell checking (Pro only)

This feature is available only in Calcpad VM Pro 8.

Calcpad checks the spelling of comments and strings. Misspelled words are underlined with a red wavy line. The current line is checked when you leave it, together with the syntax highlighting. To select the language, go to the "Edit" menu → "Spell checking". Dictionaries are available for Bulgarian, Czech, Dutch, English (UK and US), French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Romanian and Spanish. Select "None" to turn spell checking off.

Hover the mouse over a marked word to display a short menu with suggestions. Click a suggestion to replace the word. You can undo the replacement with "Ctrl+Z". Click "Ignore all" to skip the word until Calcpad is closed or "Add to dictionary" to accept it permanently. Added words are stored in "%AppData%\Calcpad\UserDictionary.txt" and are valid for all languages.

Words that look like code are not checked: words with digits, underscores or capital letters after the first one (e.g. EN, kN, CoolProp), file names, web addresses and words written in another alphabet than the one of the selected dictionary. Words that mix Latin, Cyrillic or Greek letters are always marked, because they are usually typed with the wrong keyboard layout. You can add more languages by copying Hunspell dictionaries (pairs of *.aff and *.dic files, e.g. from LibreOffice) to the "dictionaries" folder of Calcpad.
